You will be transferred to the ancient city, Anuradhapura to see Isurumuniya, Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, and ancient stupas including (Jhethawanaramaya, Abayagiriya,Mirisavatiya, Lankaramaya.En route to Anuradhapura, we will stop by an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant to taste real Sri Lankan cuisine. In the evening we will visit some lakes including Thisa wewa and Nuwara wewa. Eventually, we will stay in a luxury hotel or a homestay upon your request.
We will visit Mihintale in the morning after a scrumptious breakfast offered by the hotel. Mihintale is where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka. The staircase leads you to a spectacular view of the ancient city. Thereafter, we will set off to Sigiriya descents from the 5th century B.C, carved out of granite rock and considered an ancient fortress. This is a UNESCO world heritage site, and also this rock gives a marvelous view of the cultural triangle. Sigiriya is a must-visit tourist place in Sri Lanka. This was the domain of King Kashyapa whose aim was to build a formidable fortress with a lot of technology.
At the end of the day, we will do a village safari in Sigiriya which includes a bullock cart ride, boat safari, and Sri Lankan cooking and cropping demonstration. Overnight stay in Sigiriya as per your request.
Early in the morning, we will visit Pidurangala to see the sunrise with a breathtaking view of Sigiriya. Soon after, we will head to the Dambulla rock cave temple and Golden temple. The rock cave temple is built in natural four rock caves and consists of 150+ buddha statues. Then, will head to Kandy to see the cultural dancing at the temple of tooth premises and head to Kandy view point where you will get to see a panoramic view of the sacred Kandy city.
After a scrumptious breakfast, we will head to the temple of the tooth. Since ancient times, the relic has played a vital role in the Sri Lankan social system. The relic was historically held by Sinhalese kings. Kandy is one of the major cities in Sri Lanka and was the last capital of the ancient kings' era. Kandy is surrounded by tropical plantations, mainly tea. we will visit tea plantations and a tea factory.
After Kandy, you will be transferred to the Ambuluwawa biodiversity complex. Thereafter, we will visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where the largest herd of captive elephants in the world is kept. You will also have a chance to feed & bathe them. Then We will head to Galle.
After the Sri Lankan breakfast we will visit Galle fort, a 17th-century Dutch fort, and a cosmopolitan vibe, was first built in 1588 by the Portuguese. It is a historical, archaeological, and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 432 years of maintenance, has a polished appearance. This is also deemed a UNESCO world heritage site.
Thereafter we will set off to Unawatuna jungle beach and then Sinigama devalaya. Eventually, we will go on a boat safari in the Madu river, where you will see multiple islets along with cinnamon production, several bird species, crocodiles, village life, and experience fish therapy. At the end of the day, you will be directed to the airport with a surprise gift from Travel Guide Lanka.
